World Glaucoma week 2021

From the 7th till the 13th of March, 2021, there will be another World Glaucoma Week, an initiative of the World Glaucoma Association to raise worldwide public awareness of glaucoma. Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible visual impairment and blindness in the world. Nevertheless, it is a relatively unknown eye disease. Hence the initiative of the World Glaucoma Week!! In previous years, the Rotterdam Eye Hospital organised all sorts of activities and mini-symposia during the World Glaucoma Week. Because of restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the activities will this year be limited to online symposia only. One of the topics will be the use of Artificial Intelligence for improving the detection of glaucoma, so that fewer people in the world will suffer from visual impairment caused by the disease. The Rotterdam Eye Hospital has embarked on such a project and will present its first results. Many people have already registered for the event!
