Narayana Nethralaya successfully organized an awareness campaign during Glaucoma Awareness Week 2025, from March 9th to 15th, aligning with the global theme,
“See the Future Clearly – Uniting for a Glaucoma-Free World.” This week-long campaign aimed to raise awareness about glaucoma, promote early detection, and emphasize the importance of preventing avoidable blindness. Through a mix of offline and online activities, the campaign engaged communities, garnered significant media attention, and reinforced NN’s commitment to eye health. These initiatives included the flagship Sight Saver Run, free glaucoma screenings, educational kiosk and a quiz competition.
The Sight Saver Run was the highlight of the week, combining glaucoma awareness, fitness and environmental sustainability. The event featured both 5K and 10K runs, catering to a diverse group of participants. As part of the environmental initiative, saplings were planted at the venue, and additional saplings were distributed to participants with glaucoma awareness slogan strips. This initiative symbolized the importance of nurturing both vision and the environment.
The event was held on March 9th, 2025 at Jarakabande Reserve Forest, Bangalore.
The event received extensive coverage from local media and FM radio stations, amplifying the message of glaucoma awareness. Photoshoots were conducted throughout the event, capturing moments of enthusiasm, participation, and the deep connection between health and nature.
