The 9th World Glaucoma Week will be held on March 6^th -12th, 2016. The main theme will be to expand global awareness of the “Silent Thief of Sight”. The eye disease causes painless and irreversible blindness. The action call for this campaign is to educate communities on glaucoma awareness and the need for regular eye checks to reduce global blindness.

 

The activities planned for the 2016 World Glaucoma Week include:

 

• Distribution of posters and patient information leaflets which will educate the public on glaucoma awareness.

 

• Campaigns through print, television, radio, and other forms of electronic media on glaucoma awareness.

 

• Free glaucoma screening within selected Eye Centers during the week. (Kindly check the poster attached that contains the selected Eye Centers).
