Round table: “Modern aspects of treatment of diseases of the anterior segment of the eye”

Clinical support of a patient with glaucoma requires individualization taking into account the needs of the specific patient, the experience of the attending ophthalmologist, and the conditions of the social and economic environment.

The task of treating glaucoma is to preserve the patient’s visual functions and the relative quality of his/her life at an acceptable price.

The main goal is to suspend or stop the progress of the disease.

With all patients or their guardians, it is necessary to discuss using an accessible language all recommendations, degrees of risk, treatment options, as well as their consequences, which may threaten the patient if he/she is not treated.
