In honour of WGW 2022 observances, three activities are planned:

1. Awareness Sessions on Radio and TV
Interviews with Eye Care professionals will be done with the Department of Public Information, 98.1 FM NCN Radio and Guyana Today TV Show where public awareness information about Glaucoma, such as screening for Glaucoma, and Treatment of Glaucoma, will be disseminated.

2. An Awareness Booth at the Georgetown Public Hospital
A booth will be set up at the Georgetown Public Hospital East Street Foyer during Glaucoma Week, where the general public can receive information and pamphlets about Glaucoma and also General Eye Screening information.

3. Vision Screening Outreaches
Two Vision Screening Outreaches sponsored by NGO – the George Subraj Foundation – will be done in the Berbice Region. This will be done in collaboration with the Region 6 Health Services. Free Eye Screening and distribution of readers and sunglasses will be done at two locations (Chesney-Fyrish Village on 5th March 2022 and No. 57 Village on 6th March 2022). In addition to Vision Testing, Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure testing will be done. Region 6 Health Services will also provide additional services such as Dental, Ultrasound, Vaccination and Blood Donation Drive.
