AMURG Photography Exhibition
In the Republic of Moldova, there are no specific studies, data and statistics on Glaucoma cases. At the same time, the World Glaucoma Week has never been marked by the Ministry of Health or other structures. In this sense, through this exhibition, we aim to create a positive precedent, which could be taken over by other institutions.
Our event is an photography exhibition titled “Amurg” – translated Twilight
A series of 14 photos printed on Canvas will reflect Glaucoma in the foreground. The entire narrative thread will be around a person diagnosed with congenital glaucoma (already 19 years old), whose vision does not exceed 2%. Photographs that will represent multiple perspectives, causes and consequences of Glaucoma in an artistic manner through the color palette of a twilight. Each photo has an underlying story, in audio format, which will be offered in the form of a numbered playlist (next to each photo will be a QR code, by scanning which, each guest will be redirected to the playlist. Each photo will be assigned a number, corresponding to an audio message from the playlist.) and heard through headphones (this being the main condition – to be present at the exhibition with a pair of headphones).
The launch of the exhibition will be on March 11, starting at 18:00 at an event open to the general public. Likewise, during this event, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in a simulation of low vision with the help of simulator glasses (action coordinated by the “Low Vision” Center). Likewise, an ophthalmologist will be present, who, at the visitors’ request, will check with the tonometer (Instrument for measuring the pressure and tension of the eye) the condition of the eye and whether there is a risk of having Galucoma or not.
The exhibition also will take place:
