In the second week of March, the World Glaucoma Week takes place. As part of this week, you can have your eyes checked for glaucoma at one of the 20 optical stores of the Optometrists Collective Rijnmond for free.

During the screening, several test will be executed. For example an measurement of the eye pressure, the thickness of the cornea and the field of vision. If deviations are discovered, a special photo will be made of the optic nerve in the eye. A early stadium of glaucoma can be detected. All participating optometrists work together with the Rotterdam Eye Hospital. If required, the optometrist can refer you to the hospital.
