‘Light-up Mineirão in Green’

We once again light-up in green the main landmarks in the State of Minas Gerais, to mark the awareness campaign for glaucoma, the silent disease that is the main cause of irreversible blindness in the world. This year, one of our main options is the Mineirão, officially Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto (Governor Magalhães Pinto Stadium), the largest football stadium in the state of Minas Gerais. It was established in 1965, and it is located in Belo Horizonte. In addition to being a football stage, Mineirão is also a monument in the capital of Minas Gerais. Its facade is listed by the Council of Historical Heritage of Belo Horizonte and is part of the architectural complex of Pampulha, designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer. The arena is, therefore, inserted in one of the main leisure and culture centers of the city, where landscaping and architecture come together in a true postcard.
