DISTRIBUTION OF 62 000 MAGAZINES EDITING FOR GLAUCOMA SOCIETY OF ECUADOR

The Glaucoma Society of Ecuador will be publishing a colored eight pages magazine that will be distributed with the four major newspapers of Ecuador (El Comercio from Quito, El Universo from Guayaquil, El Mercurio from Cuenca and El Diario Manabita from Manabí) on Sunday March 12th; trying to cover the biggest regions of our country, with a total of 62 000 examples.  The editing and layout of this publication is being prepared for by the members of our Glaucoma Society thanks to the support from our local ophthalmic industry (Sophia, Novartis-Alcon, Poen-Roemmers, Allergan, Saval and Roddome Pharmaceutical).

During this week; the members of our Glaucoma Society will give 30 lectures to patients in different hospitals around the country.  Throughput the lectures, educational material will be distributed to all attendees (the entire material will be prepared by our Society).

We will distribute 12 000 flyers and triptychs with information for patients and their relatives about two topics: “What is Glaucoma?” and “How to avoid blindness from Glaucoma?”  in all the public and private offices of the ophthalmologist in Ecuador.

We will attend 23 interviews in television, newspapers and radio programs during this week; explaining what Glaucoma is, how to avoid going blind from glaucoma; and what the World Glaucoma Week means.  This will be our first World Glaucoma Week in Ecuador; and for that reason we are placing the logo of The World Glaucoma Week and our own logo together to be used in the principal news programs of our country during this week.
