1st National Policy on Chronic Glaucoma Control was drafted…

The policy statement starts w/ best available evidence on glaucoma incidence/prevalence and its disability + affected citizens’ unawareness in Iran.

Then 3 strategies are listed: active clinical screening by ophthalmologists; self-sought (periodic) visit by those at higher risk (positive 1st degree FH plus an age of 45-50 years or higher) or those who concerned – following social awareness campaigns; advanced glaucoma control through improved patient education (compliance n uptake).

In the end we have listed future opportunities n challenges for glaucoma control and asked for feedback.
